Ungli is a 2014 Indian Hindi comedy drama film directed by Rensil D'Silva and produced by Karan Johar under Dharma Productions. The film stars Emraan Hashmi, Kangana Ranaut, Randeep Hooda, Neil Bhoopalam, Angad Bedi and Sanjay Dutt.The film was released on 28 November 2014. Mid-day gave the film 3 out of 5 stars highlighting the direction and performances.he movie starts off with 4 friends starting a gang called the ungli gang which fights against corruption. Their job is to bug corrupt people and teach them lessons illegally. They target a corrupt minister and become the most wanted people in Mumbai. Their case is the responsibilty of ACP Kale(Sanjay Dut). Kale hires his smart, naughty, cheeky nephew Nikhil(Emran Hashmi), thinking he may do the job. Nikhil is an ex-police officer who got suspended because off his irresponsible behaviour during duty. However Kale still has faith in him. Nikhil's plan is to somehow win the ungli gang's heart and join their gang. He manages to join the gang, hiding that he is working for the police. He gains great freindship with the four gang members. After a few days Kale calls Nikhil to ask if found out anything, Nikhil lies and says I will call tomorrow. That night he asks his mother what would have his dad done (who was a Police Commisoner) if his best friends were outlaws. Would he have arrested them or hide them. Nikhil's mother tells him that duty always comes first. That night he decides to give the ungli gang to the police. Ungli gang are on a mission the same night and Nikhil stays behind and tells Kale where they are. A big shootout scene happens and the ungli gang are just about to be captured when an unknown man comes in a hood and shoots Kale's leg. The man and the ungli gang escape. The ungli gang and Nikhil go out for coffee the next day and the ungli gang tells Nikhil how it started. The film goes in flashback. The four friends's gym teacher Ricky, also their best friend is murdered by a fixer's son on the streets. The fixer is a person who collects money from the police to get them transferred to a good place. At the murder scene there was an old man who witnessed the scene. The man is ready to fight the case for the four friends. The fixer kidnaps the man's granddaughter and blackmails him. In the court the man lies that he didn't witness the scene properly. The four friends know that this is because of corruption and decide to start the ungli gang. Mikhail feels sorry for this and confesses that he informed the police. He is kicked out. Nikhil goes to Kale and confesses that he was the man in the hood who shot him. Kale slaps him. Because Kale couldn't catch the ungli gang his transferred. The commisoner secretly tells Kale to meet the fixer to get transferred to a good place. Nikhil comes to know off this and he makes a plan. Because the fixer doesn't only collect money, he also gives money to police officers in power to not file any cases against him. Kale, Nikhil and the ungli gang work together to get the fixer arrested and those police officers in power suspended. The plan is that while Kale is fake fixing with the fixer the ungli gang and Nikhil will dress up as Kale's police henchmen and sneak into the room where all the money is kept. They spray an edible acid on the money. No one knows why. Then the 6 people leave the place. It is then revealed that the acid stays on your tongue permanently after touching it. It will leave a big black spot. When the money gets handed out to the officers, they count the money. It his human nature that when you are counting pages in a book or money notes you touch the paper and then touch your tongue to wet the paper a little bit. Because the acid touches the tongue it leaves a black spot on the officers tongue. Kale knows every Mumbai's officer's address and goes to each one's house and forcefully checks there tongue and takes pictures off them. The police officers are suspended and the fixer is arrested, Kale becomes Commisoner and Nikhil and the four friends stop the ungli gang.
